Do not put CDs or their cases in household recycling. Roundabout Books accepts donations of CDs along with DVDs, books, video games, and vinyl records at their store on Pierce St in Greenfield. (The Roundabout Books drop boxes at certain transfer stations only accept books, not CD's, etc.) GreenDisk offers a fee-based mail-in option for recycling all forms of electronic media and their cases: diskettes, zip disks, CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, DVDs et al, video tape, audio tape, game cartridges, DAT, DLT, Beta or Digibeta, and virtually all other type of computer tapes, as well as many other forms of “techno-trash.” See their site for more info.
Otherwise, dispose of CDs and their plastic trays in the garbage.
