Foam blocks, like the packaging typically used to secure electronics or appliances in shipping, are called "expanded polystyrene molders" or EPS. Clean, uncontaminated EPS packaging can be brought to Gold Circuit E-Cycling in Agawam, MA.
The EPS should be free from any significant dirt, tape, or any other contaminants and should be marked with the plastics symbol #6 (in the triangle or chasing arrows). Foodservice items are NOT accepted -- only white, rigid, foam block packaging.
Starting in April 2022 and continuing to April 2024 and beyond, the District is collaborating with a few towns to accept Styrofoam for recycling at special collection events. Call the office for information: 413-772-2438.
