Boxboard refers to "flat" (uncorrugated) cardboard such as cereal or tissue boxes. Accepted at all local transfer stations in Paper recycling and curbside in Erving, Gill, and Montague. Remove liners, bags, etc. before recycling, but attached plastic windows are ok.
The clean portions of pizza boxes can be recycled, but the greasy parts must be discarded or composted. Turning the box inside out makes it easy for the recycler to see that only clean portions have been put in the recycling bin. Greasy portions of pizza boxes can be brought to municipal compost programs at the transfer stations in Greenfield (open to non-residents), Leverett, New Salem, Northfield, Orange, Wendell, or Whately.
