Fabric can be placed in Salvation Army or Goodwill boxes, or brought to Salvation Army stores. Textiles can be in almost any condition, as anything not deemed appropriate for the charities' stores will be sold to a textile recycler. Moth-eaten, torn, and stained fabrics are all acceptable. However, all items must be DRY. The following towns now have Salvation Army drop boxes at their transfer stations: Bernardston, Buckland, Charlemont, Colrain, Leverett, New Salem, Northfield, Orange, Shelburne, Wendell, and Whately.
