Collection sites at GCC and Orange Transfer Station
For residents and businesses in the following towns:
Athol, Bernardston, Buckland, Charlemont, Colrain, Conway, Deerfield, Erving, Gill, Hawley, Heath, Leverett, Montague, New Salem, Northfield, Orange, Petersham, Rowe, Royalston, Shelburne, Sunderland*, Warwick, Wendell, Whately
*Residents of Sunderland must pay to participate.
You must PRE-REGISTER to participate. Online pre-registration for the 2018 collection will begin on Aug. 16th and end on Sept. 17th. After registering, you will receive a postcard in the mail assigning you a time and giving you directions to the collection site. Please call our office if you haven't received a card within five business days of submitting your information.

POISON, FLAMMABLE, WARNING, DANGER, CAUTION
FLUORESCENT LIGHT BULBS* (see below for alternate disposal options), LATEX PAINT, ASBESTOS, GAS CYLINDERS, RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL, EMPTY CONTAINERS FROM HAZARDOUS PRODUCTS, EXPLOSIVES INCLUDING AMMUNITION AND FIREWORKS
*At the annual Hazardous Waste Collection Day, only mercury-containing items such as thermostats and thermometers will be accepted; fluorescent bulbs are no longer accepted at the annual Hazardous Waste Collection Day. CFLs and other fluorescent bulbs are accepted at the following locations: Lowe’s Stores; at all District transfer stations (handle carefully and hand to attendant); and Greenfield Transfer Station (handle carefully and hand to attendant). Additionally, mercury-containing items and bulbs are accepted at the Regional Hazardous Waste Collection sites in Bernardston, Colrain, and Conway.
